Dr Hillary Segl
Dr. Segl is a graduate of Bucknell University, and then got her DVM from Texas A&M University rather a long time ago. She started Alpha Animal Hospital in 2005, and enjoys the day to day challenges of animals. Her hobbies include quilting, hiking, traveling, and reading – mainly mysteries, science fiction, and biographies. Her current menagerie consists of three spoiled cats and a shaggy dog.
Dr. Jessica Kreher
Dr. Kreher started as a vet assistant at the hospital during undergraduate school at the University of Virginia. She graduated from Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012, and has been working with us as an associate vet ever since. She is now a proud (and overworked) homeowner, and shares her house with husband Mark and 3 children, small generally pleasant critters, Luke Christina and Kate.
Deb is a retired biology teacher and she enjoys competing in canine agility trials, boating, and swimming. Deb has competed at the national level with USA Masters Swimming. Deb is seen in her photo with her dog Xena.
Travis (Head Technician)
Travis has been with Alpha since 2021, and previously worked in a veterinary ER and has a special interest in surgery and innovative medicinal practices. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his cat and crested gecko, as well as playing drums in an alt/indie band!
Steven recently joined Alpha after relocating to Northern VA. In just his short time being with us, Steven is quickly learning the ropes to general practice- assisting in surgical procedures and appointment settings. Outside of work, he enjoys playing with his dog (the big baby pictured here) and cat, reading books, playing board games, and cooking.
Hayley comes to the veterinary field with a unique set of skills- she is a classically trained visual artist with a specialty in printmaking! Hayley also brings multiple years of ER/ICU care to the Alpha team and is our resident cat-enthusiast. She is passionate about fear-free and compassionate handling, as well as animal behavior. Outside of work and art, Hayley is an avid reader and nature-lover.
Heather graduated from the University of Texas with a BS in Nursing and developed a keen interest in different forms of medical practice. She soon realized that her innate passion is embodied in compassionate animal care and medical support, and has been working as a veterinary tech for the past two years. Outside of work, Heather enjoys being outdoors with her 12-year-old dog, Louie, a lab-boxer mix who still acts like a puppy. Some of Heather’s other interests include yoga, reiki, and spending time in nature.
OUR STAFF Outside The Office
Dr. Brooks is amazing! I'm so lucky that this place is really close to where I live. Our dog is always excited to see her, she's always very stealthy with shots. She also saved us money by scheduling our dog's spaying and tooth extraction under one anesthesia visit, which is something I hadn't thought of doing. I highly recommend her to everyone!

I absolutely LOVE Dr Seigl!! She was always soooo great with my pup. Frenchies are not the easiest dogs to help as they can have horrible allergies, but she ALWAYS worked with me. My Mina girl was sooo well tended by Dr. Seigl and her staff. I usually never had to wait- but I will say from having visited other vets, that it is worth the wait to have the waiting room to yourself. I always felt like my Mina girl was treated extra special ... I imagine Dr. Seigl and her staff made all the animals feel that way, which is why she is the BEST vet in NoVa. The prices were never high consiering the area. (that area tends to price gauge just because) ... Dr. Seigl is extremely smart. And, she always made sure my questions were answered. I was never rushed.
Best. Vet. Ever.

Great Vets very kind and professional. I got lucky living so close, just across the street. Dr Hilary was great and the two additional Drs are equally great. I am usually let in fast and get great follow up.
